Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

The historic Lodi district is well situated almost due east of Napa Valley and its climate is likewise tempered by the cooling breezes of nearby San Pablo and San Francisco bays to produce elegant, well structured, flavorful wines. Our 2007 vintage is a Cabernet Sauvignon in name but it has the heart of a classic red Bordeaux. First of all, this wine is very fragrant thanks to its unique fusion of red Bordeaux varietals. The blend, noted in detail below, includes all four of the most respected red Bordeaux varietals. This is a stunningly bold statement of quality almost never found in a wine costing less than $25. Dark and seductive, aromas of currants, cassis, plums, cranberries, blackberries and spicy, toasty oak rise from the glass. Lush flavors of blackberries, blueberries and ripe black stone fruits deliver the promise of the nose and remain solidly satisfying from the front of the palate to the back with a well structured, finely integrated anatomy of fruit and oak tannins framing the finish. Delicious with steak and all red meat including wild game; this is a crowd pleaser.
